How to make a common skate rig
Components for Trace
1) 1 x 2500mm length of 200 lb. mono
2) 1 x 500mm length of 200 lb. mono
3) 1 x 12/0 crushed barb O'Shaughnessy
4) 1 x 100 lb. swivel
5) 1 x split ring
6) 1 x 100 lb. interlock swivel (main line)
Procedure for Trace
1) Tie (or crimp) the 500mm length of nylon to the hook using a Uni knot or Grinner
2) Tie (or crimp) the other end of the 500mm. mono to the plain swivel
3) Tie or (crimp) the 2500 mm. nylon to the other end of the swivel
4) Insert the split ring through the eye of the swivel furthest away from the hook
5) Tie (or crimp) a figure of eight loop or swivel to the other end of the 2500 mm. mono
Components for the boom
1) 1 x 100mm hosepipe
2) 1 x cable tie
3) 1 x snap swivel
The boom
The boom which carries the lead will jettison over the knot if the main line is broken
